driving Suburbans." LOL. Taking my usual route to work through Bruce Park in Greenwich when I come upon a detour. They are sending everyone around the park down by the Sound, near the private-police guarded and gated enclaves of the rich and famous. The roads there are very, very narrow with rock outcroppings everywhere. Am going no more than about 25 when this babe comes flying out of one of the gated roads down the middle of the road....try to pull over as much as I can so I don't get hit and hear a loud. "buuussscchhh." Pull over immediately onto the park grass ... yep totally scraped rim and a hole cut in the tire. Here comes the redeeming part of the story. 1. Actually had my cell phone with me for a change. 2. It was fully charged ;-) 3. Audi roadside assistance there in 15 minutes.

What a great guy picked me up. He immediately starts laughing about me having already removed the right front grill and screwed in the tow loop. He couldn't believe it. I told him I RTFM. He wanted to know what that meant, and I told him. He's cracking up. We were fast friends...think he was expecting some Greenwich snoot when he saw the TT. So, I'm telling him they are aftermarket winter rims and I really don't want to have the car towed to New Country as I detest them. He laughs, says he does too. So he drives me up to his shop....guess what's there: Porches, Mercedes, a Ferrari, etc. You get it. He works on everything. We take the car off the flatbed, he tells me he'll give me a ride to work, check the rim, get me a new Pirelli and call me at work and if I can't get a ride down, he'll come pick me up. Sometimes bad days turn into good days. What a great guy.

We start talking about mods for my TT, and he can do it all for me. So looks like I've found a great resource....all's well that ends well.
