Nothing? Then you're not qualified to be an Audi Certified Technician.

Default jeebus....its pretty scary to think of what goes on at the dealer......<rant>

while my best friend is a very qualified shop foreman at a VW dealer in the area, he has certainly told me some stories that I find horrifying...I am glad I do not know what goes on sometimes, its kinda like not asking questions at the local Wendy's when you order a burger.

Now its easy to poke fun at the dealers and also make light of their ineptness and downright laziness, not all of this falls onto the shoulders of the Tech's. It all falls back on one thing, and that is AoA and more to the point VWAG. They ALLOW their dealerships to operate while not being trained to repair the product.

Can you imagine that my best friend was working on cars that were on public roads that did not have access to part # CD's? When they would call the Tech Line for help with deciphering the 1552 codes they would get the run around and alot of "hold ons" and "I will call you back"

My mothers Passat was driven off of the lot on a Thurs evening and on Fri morning the car went into limp mode. The dealer comes and tows the car and it takes 2 weeks them to get a response on what was wrong with the car! They were waiting for CODES! I know that this car was of the utmost priority in the shop too....imagine if I were a Joe Schmoe

Anyway, I often see alot of bitching about dealers and rightfully so, this whole debacle with Jim Ellis has shown many the slimy underbelly of the car dealership experience but I dont neccessarily always think that they are responsible. I would think that a company that was aiming to be among the best in the biz could at least be mediocre.

Now what was that a picture of John?

Default actually, my question at the end was for effect, the picture is

what appears to be a diagram of a Haldex oil change directly pointing to the fact that the oil *cartridge* <b>looks</b> like something special and has a *special* part number with a big arrow on it. How much simpler can it be?

ahh, the irony of watching a car owner bring pictures and hand outs from the internet to show the dealers the procedures....

sheesh, I find that funny =)

It's the Haldex unit and the cartridge used to inject the fluid. Honestly, some people!!
