Default The SmartFilter here at work has now been programmed to block all web mail including..
...hotmail and yahoo mail accounts. I imagine the AudiWorld isn't far behind. Boy does that **** me off. How old are we? Sheesh!

Because it makes our work environment more like a gulag...which is somehow desirable.

These viruses could infect companies JUST BY GOING TO A WEB PAGE. This activation of a web page would fire off the virus, weaseling it's way through IIS, if not IIS, then Exchange, then if not that, you name it, it tried it. I should know...I happened to be at work when everything happened.
just the facts ma'am, just the facts. :-)

Default Re: It would a hell of a lot amenable to use a filter that scans incoming mail thru
the MS Exchange or Lotus Notes Exchange for bad attachments. I also set my Notes clients on all my users to not execute any attachments. People can send attachments. Any executable ones have to be manually detached before running. The extra effort keeps folks conscious of malicious programs and virii.

Default Re: Friends of mine working for CA and Platinum told me they monitor ALL their employees email..
and if they access any personal email during work time with exception from 12-1:00pm; they are fired. Now THAT's draconian. ;-)

Default It's also a bad business practice IMO. If people are getting their projects done and meeting...
....their deadlines, companies should leave well enough alone.

...because of a new virus.
