Just got ripped off!!!

I bought a used Compaq PC with a Pentium III (3) @ 500MHz from a <a href="http://www.half.com/cat/buy/prod.cgi?cpid=1080816556&domain_id=10&meta _id=5%23full_prod_info">seller</a> on Half.com for $275.00

Or so I thought.

I received a Pentium II (2) @ 450MHz. What a kick in the pants!

Is everything else correct or is the computer completely different?

Contact the company and file a complaint.

Everything else is correct.

And it came with no OS, though I guess the ad didn't specify that it would have one.

The procedure Half.com has is that I send a complaint via them to the seller. The seller has 48 hours to reply. If the seller has not replied during that time, they will send a second notice. If they don't hear from him, then they'll refund my money.

At least they cover your losses, that is better than some places.

Unfortunately, the model number indicates that it is a PII 450.

Of course I only know that because I've worked on Compaq Deskpro EN's pretty extensively. But that is what the 6450 in EN6450 means.

He still advertised it incorrectly though, so you are still due a refund.

Of course I'm not sure that's such a bad price for that machine anyway.

Just my confusing 2cents.
