Need advise about a flat tire

I got a flat tire from a nail when I dropped off the TT for service. The Audi dealer guy tells me they patched it but it may not hold and the tire may need to be replaced. Sure enough, the tire is losing air.

Questions...
Can't it be patched without replacing the tire? Where should I go to get the job done correctly? If I do need a new tire, do I have to purchase 2 tires so it's balanced?

Tires can be successfuly repaired.......

as long as the hole is in the tread area. You may need to dismount the tire and do an inside patch (best way). I had a tire plugged after picking up a 4 inch lag bolt (a fat one) while on a business trip. I've had no problems in 4,000 miles and have run as high as 125. You do not need to replace tires in pairs unless they have high miles on them....

Buy a new tire, it just lost it's "H" rating

The hole is in the thread area so it sounds like it can be plugged. Should I just take it to some place like Dobbs since the Audi dealer didn't fix the hole properly?
