Default Recall advice

I have not had the spoiler/suspension recall modifications made to my TT(2000 180 FWD Blue Coupe, GIAC Chip). I love the car and am going to keep it 1-2 more years. Any advice on having the mods done, when considering handling/looks/resale?

Default Don't do it! If you market this properly, you can get a lot more for it because....

of the clean looks of ther non-spoiler, and the snappy handling of the original control arms.
I recently got an estimate of $1K, for my roadster, to get another trunk lid, and have it painted, without the spoiler.

I have also searched high and low, to get a pair of original control arms.
I'd pay you handsomely for them, if you remove them, b ut unfortunately, the dealer does it, and returns the parts to Audi.

Kepp it virgin, do not get the mods done, and don't let your dealer do it for you, or talk you into doing it!

Default Mine has had the suspension upgrade but not the spoiler. I prefer the look without.

The spoiler probably makes a difference at high speed. If you push the car to the edge. It might be wiser to have it. Some people here have taken them off. So it comes down to your personal taste & how you drive. IMO.

Default I read that non-spoilered TTs go for a little more on resale. I have the same car and would never..

do it. I just like the "curves" too much to break them up. Plus I like how the car handles (and won't be hitting 120mph any time soon!).

Default Don't do the spoiler (unless you do plan to really speed) I certainly would have paid more for...

mine if I could of found one before I bought mine used without it. I don't mind having it done from the standpoint that I really do drive at high speeds on the interstates and have had my car over and around 100 for extended periods of time on clear roads, and having that extra downforce is really critical, the car feels at home at those speeds. But since I have one of the first TT's that certainly came without it I wish it was original to how it came, would have been MUCH more collectable, and since it was modified I don't have the urge to be as protective of my car and not drive it as much, however I won't be slinging it around a race track any time soon, too risky. I haven't yet done the traction control ASR upgrade/modification that is available to have done for $500, can't really see having my car sent to Texas or wherever they do it and I don't know how far from original I really want to change the car.

Default Dont do it,

Unspoiled and mk1 suspension is how they were meant to be...just remain aware of the handling and you'll be fine...

Default Personal taste; I never would have bought the car WITHOUT the spoiler...

Too rounded, too "bar of soap", too "squashed Beetle" without the spoiler, IMHO...
