RioCar People: wiring question
also, the Bose system has about 8 speakers right? do they all play the same respective left/right signal? or are the signals slightly adjusted to create surround-sound effects? if so, if i buy an amp for a RioCar, I'll need to amplify each speaker separately or something, won't I? do they sell amps that do that?
sigh... if only i were more knowledgeable in this area...
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Look at the area here where you see the 'RF' - 'RR', where I have pointed to the "To Power Amp".
You can splice into these wires that plug into the back of the OEM head unit. The output of your head unit will then drive these signals to the "Bose" amp.
The amp should have the appropriate signals to drive all the speakers you have installed, and the controls on the new head unit should drive the appropriate fronts and rears.
Use this schematic to find the appropriate power signals on the OEM wiring loom.
Also, the output from your head unit to turn on the Bose amp.
Because the OEM connectors are on such short cables, you will have to do this while sitting in the car, up close and personal with your center dash. Drap a bunch of towels around when you do this also.
Good Luck
