OT: help with identifying early version of Windows
I do have a copy of Windows 3.1 here on 3.5" DSHD so it has to be earlier than that. This version IS NOT 3.11 For Workgroups.
2.x was released to the public as well.
There are loads of bulletin boards where people are looking for early Windows/DOS disks. Can't remember much money changing hands though. Might buy you some stem caps, who knows? ;-)
Those disks are most likely Windows/286, or close to it. Windows/386 was quite prominent on all the disks (I had a version up until a year or two ago) but Windows/286 just said Windows on them.

The manual is for Windows 3.11, which was the first Windows to have a Certificate of Authenticity (Win95's looked much different, and Windows 3.1 didn't have one).
Working Windows 1.0 floppies might be worth something -- though they could have easily demagnetized by now and thus become unreadable.
