Default Stratmosphere Armrest - Problems !!!!!

I ordered several things from Stratmosphere of which one was the armrest.

To my surprise the supplied tunnel piece makes no provision for the phone outlet. Additionally, their web page makes no mention of this or does the instructions supplied make any mention of how to remove the cupholder or what to do with the phone outlet.

What were your experiences???

Default Cup Holder and Phone Issue

1. I rotated the cupholder 90 degrees and moved to the rear hole. Even bolted and with lockwasher it still has too much twist and rocking to me.

I am going to have a piece of aluminum or stainless fashioned to the curve of the tunnel and extend outward in each direction from the center to suppor the cupholder.

2. I think I will dremel out a hole for the phone between the two aluminum posts. I may try to glue two support block to the underside and then use self tapping screws to hold the phone connector to the bottom of the new tunnel piece.

Sure seems like alot of work after having paid $350 for this.

Default I was told ....

to let the jack hang out and plug the phone into it! Seems like a half-assed way to do it.

But the best part is I don't have the phone to deal with so I just hid the jack in the tunnel.

I agree .... for that money if I had a phone I'd want a proper jack to plug it into. You shouldn't have to jury rig something to make it work.
