Paging Mr. Schwing? CR-V advice needed
My wife's CR-V has been making a low squealing sound from the rear during tight (full lock) turns. I thought it was the brakes out of adjustment or something and was planning to look at that BUT....
When it snowed recently, the AWD kicked in when I started off on an uphill slope. Accelerating in a straight line, I heard the same sound. So now I'm thinking it may be the rear differential needing to be lubed or something.
Have you you done this and do you have any tips/tricks?
Do you know of a CD-based repair manual for the CR-V like the Bently CD?

My CRV has never so much as squeeked in 37,000 miles(AWD EX version)....Don't know what to tell you. Never, Ever had a problem with Honda cars and have had 25 of them! I think you can get a hard copy manual, but a squeal is gonna be hard to diagnose. How many miles? what year?

So, no ABS, only drums in the rear. 57K miles, front brakes have been done, but not the back.
I'm not keen on having the shop look at it until I take a swing. Lubing the rear diff should not be hard but I want to look at the manual before touching it. I'll let you know what I find.
