Default Has anybody used the Victoracer for Auto-X?

I'm thinking about ordering a set today for the Pro Solo and Solo 2 National races in San Diego and El Toro the next 2 weeks. Has anybody used these on their TT? How much better are the Hoosiers? Anyone going to the races?

Default It all depends on the surface and how serious you plan on getting.

the Hoosiers are a faster tire, generally 2-4 tenths for each run. Again it depends on the surface as well as the weather conditions.

The Hoosiers cost twice the Kumhos, and last half as long. The Hoosiers are THE tire for concrete, Kumho's work better on asphalt. When the weather is cool, the Kumho's are the better choice, when it is hot go with the Hoosiers, when raining go with Kumho's.

The Kumho's are a much more forgiving tire especially for the beginner or novice. You really need to know how to control your car to get the most performance out of Hoosiers, but once you can make your car dance and move around a course, nothing better than Hoosiers.

You can get just about a season out of a set of Kumho's, but it will take 2 or 3 sets of Hoosiers for the same amount of racing. Kumho's handle all of the heat cycling much better than Hoosiers do.

Hope this helps. Are you the TT that is registered in STX?

Default It would be a little too far to travel . . .

I am on Long Island!

You should contact Moses aka Chaka and ask him about the Garrett chip that was just done to take advantage of the FMIC.

Default can you chip and remain in STX, or does that put you into a prepared or modified class?

I also thought STS and STX required street tire compounds. or is it only STS?

Default You can not change the BOOST in STS/STX, but you can chip :)

Street tires only for STS/STX, but there are such things as Falken Azenis, which are closer to Kumhos than they are Pilot Sports (for instance).

Default Yeah, what Larry says. I ran two sets of Kumhos last year, but

switching to Hoosiers this year, unless I go to STX, then it's straight to Azenis.

So you are Tyler Thompson? I asked a few days ago, but I guess you missed my post.
