Last night, my car's computer said "900 miles" to next service...and now it says "1100 miles" to go.

Last night, my car's computer said "900 miles" to next service...and now it says "1100 miles" to go.
Now, I know I've put on quite a few (~700) grin-filled miles in the past (almost) 2 weeks, but I'm still a few hundred miles away from the 1000 miles mark, let alone the 9000 mile mark. LOL
Do you think this a glitch or are service intervals based upon something other than mileage? According to Audi my first/next "scheduled" service is at 10K miles (although I do intend to have the oil changed much sooner).

I've decided to completely ignore that
Even if it's right (and it wasn't) I had to wait for an opening that was past the mileage anyway.
The freindly service guy booked me out for the next few years so I just go according to that schedule. It maps up to my driving anyway....
