Default Well I'm to blame for my seat covers not matching in color.......

According to Audi Client relations executive branch who investigated the decision of the OTS - i'm to blame for the difference in color because I treated my seats. After a useless discussion with the representative who said that Audi had gone above and beyond the normal call of duty providing superior customer assistance by replacing the seat cover in the first place when it wasn't warranted (apparently severe cracking and wearing the patina off the leather in 10k miles is considered "normal wear and tear")I'm basically screwed. She also stated that treating the leather is not required by Audi - but merely recommended when I mentioned to her that my dealer first questioned me about not treating the leather as a possibly cause for the cracking and premature wear. I love this car and really hate this company.

Default Why would they say don't treat the leather when they sell a leather treatment and ...

Recommend you use it twice a year?

Default Ok, let me get this straight . . .

You caused the original leather to discolor so it won't match the new leather because you conditioned the leather. Right? But you were also asked if you conditioned the leather to PREVENT it from cracking? So, either way you lose.

Am I reading your post right?

My question to the AoA rep would be this:

1. Since I conditioned ALL of the leather in teh car, including the steering wheel and door insert, why are they NOT wearing?

2. How come the leather changed from the 2000 to the 2001 model year TT's? The 2001 ebony leather is gray as compared to the 2000 ebony leather. Tell that you are not the only person to see the difference.

I guess it will just be easier to get a set of Recaro racing seats. lol

Default Well Larry.......

"You caused the original leather to discolor so it won't match the new leather because you conditioned the leather. Right? But you were also asked if you conditioned the leather to PREVENT it from cracking? So, either way you lose."

Yes - that's basically it.

1. Since I conditioned ALL of the leather in teh car, including the steering wheel and door insert, why are they NOT wearing?

They said that the treatment didn't stop the wear - just resulted in the color difference.

2. How come the leather changed from the 2000 to the 2001 model year TT's? The 2001 ebony leather is gray as compared to the 2000 ebony leather. Tell that you are not the only person to see the difference.

I told them this - they said that differences in animal hides and dye lots result in changes in color. YEAH RIGHT.

Well - tonight a healthy dose of Connely's goes on the drivers seat they replaced. Let's see if it changes color.........

Default F#*k that, call consumer affairs

I'll bet there is nothing on those bottles that say that the color may change and if so you are responsible. That along with the recommendation should be enough to go on.
What a bunch of BS!!
