Electrical problem finally solved -- I hope. After 3 weeks in A6 loaner,...

4th visit, 3 new battteries, 3 new clusters, and 2 new altenators, they found that one Bose amplifier was not turning off. Just enough drain to flatten battery in 5-6 days. Can't believe how long it took them to find it. However, have to say that service people at Continental Audi, Naperville, IL., are professional and gave it their best all the way. I've been driving their A6 all this time. Sure hope this is the end of the problem though. Owned the car 3 months and only driven 650 miles in it so far. Drive to Asheville and back will triple it! Can't wait.

I'd make them do a drain check, to see how many amps are being used when it's locked....

should be around 0.03 amps, after about one minute. If there's anything on, it'll be way high.....

They did. Apparently drain was low, but still at least triple normal...

However, even AoA Tech told them that it was in the normal range. Service Manager eventually compared drain on mine with drain on a couple of new ones off the lot. Only then, did they realize that it actually was above normal. Go figure.
