TT high speed accidents
The cars supposedly became light in the rear at high speeds(130 or so) and then during an abrupt lane change maneuver(stupid to do at 130), the tail would step sideways and the car would come around. If you're doing an essay on engineering failures, this would be a hard one to nail. If you look at the lift numbers of the TT compared with other vehicles in its class(SLK, Boxster, S2000), the significant differences are negligable.
You want a good one, try for the Firestone/Ford Explorer snafu. But then again, there's some hard data showing how stable these vehicles are even during rapid decompression of a front tire(blowout).
Maybe go back to Pinto gas tanks.......that was a good one.
THanks a lot!!!
