I just painted my brakes red. Thanks to the following Forum members for help....
Help received:
- Front brake clips: Jeff Bipes, your photos were invaluable. The clips came off and on real easy using your instructions. Absolutt TTodd, your instructions helped also.
- Jacking up car: LarryTT, your instructions were clear and helpful. MichaelTT, your photo was excellent. However, when I put the jack stand under the control arm in the front like your photo, I was too chicken to put the full weight on the end of the control arm. It just looked to scary to hang the front end at those points. So I did one front wheel at a time. I put the stand under the control arm for safety, and had about 80% of the weight on the floor jack. Took longer, but it worked. The back, I had both wheels off the ground, using Larry's instructions.
- Paint: I ordered Caliper laquer ($47.99) from Tweeks (www.madirect.com), who sells Porsche parts & accessories. I didn't have to worry about overspray. Of course I masked everything. I was worried about brush strokes, but the laquer flowed, and no streeks.
- Logo: I got the Audi logos from The Race Store. This was the finishing touch that made the brakes look factory.
Unfortunatly, I do not have a digital camera, and cannot include photos.
THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE!
