MP3 player for the TT?
I have searched back through some of the posts and seen some talk about this. What has anyone been able to install that went in nicely and smoothly?
What options are out there?

I installed an iPod in my TTR using a wired FM modulator and the sound is "OK". The FM mod is...
<center><img src="http://63.64.251.25/tt/ipod_cell_phone.jpg"></center><p>located in the trunk and the audio source from the iPod is connected to the FM mod via the cellphone RJ-45 connector. I also pick up +12V switched power from the main cellphone DB-25 connector for the FM modulator.
I'm waiting for Blitzsafe to ship their dual (CD/Aux) adapter and I will then switch to that for better audio quality.

Phatbox is nice, but...
The iPod seems to be much more nicely styled, and can be used for almost any activity - not just listening in the car like the phatbox.
You can use the iPod as external storage for FireWire equipped computers. Phatbox claims that it supports data storage (not just .mp3 files), but a 20GB USB hard drive (Phatnoise) will take hours to fill. 5GB over firewire takes about eight minutes.
I may be biased, since I'm doing a stint at PortalPlayer, the maker of the encode/decode and I/O chip on the iPod, but it just looks a lot nicer, and there's software to connect it to Windows now. Phatbox seems to have an edge in storage capacity, but 5GB on the iPod is nothing to sneeze at.
The iPod's navigation is quite intuitive. I can find songs very quickly with a momentary glance at the player - important in the car.

Wait... I am going.. I have an iPod? no deal for me :(
I use the tape interface. Have a radioshack one, will get a Sony one as I have heard they are better. Also, encoding your MP3s at a higher rate (above 160) will sound better in the car.
