Ordered my XM Radio today
I am pretty excited! Hope it is here next Wednesday
You will enjopy it. We'll have to start a thread on what stations people have preprogrammed.
(DMX, for those who don't know, is a digital cable radio service. Its main drawback is that they would have a catalog of about 200 songs for say the 70s channel, but they will never add or delete songs to that catalog, so after a few months you have literally heard all the songs on the channel. There are a lot more than 200 70s songs but if they don't swap out titles every so often, you will hear Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) by Edison Lighthouse once every two days, but you will never hear Stay Awhile by The Bells - pretty much the way regular commercial radio stations work except you're not paying them $12/month...
Bottom line - I wonder what their "churn" rate will eventually be if listeners decide they've "heard everything" and drop the service, or whether the fact they paid $300 for the head unit will keep them subscribed long after they've switched back to regular broadcast...
