Operations Manager

Description:

This position is responsible for all manufacturing activities in the plant. Responsible for the overall safety, employee relations, and enforcement/adherence to manufacturing procedures and Company policy.
1. Deliver the product profitability, efficiently, and on time, while meeting customer requirements.
2. Build and maintain an effective work environment following corporate, business and plant procedures, while promoting employee involvement
3. Develop, establish and drive improvements in safety, cost, waste, manufacturing savings, quality, and service, to maximize income
4. Build teamwork and effective working relationships with other internal resources
5. Manage, develop and coach supervisors and plant personnel
6. Provide leadership in the management of the department's equipment assets
7. Establish a vision of where the departments are going and how the departments fit in with the business/plant.

Qualifications:

BS in Management or Engineering discipline is required, along with working knowledge of modern manufacturing methods, and experience in CI, Kaizen event and lean manufacturing principles. 5-10 years in manufacturing supervision/management. Experience in a union environment. 5-10 years in manufacturing supervision/management. Self motivated, communication and team management skills. Must have strong analytical skills and good attention to detail. Focus on serving customers and employees. AS400, MRPII, spreadsheet software
