Used TT - Good deal??
Our neighbor is selling her 2000 model year TT coupe which does not have the spoiler or ESP as she bought it before Audi's recall. It has the 1.8turbo 180hp engine and front-wheel drive. It's silver with a black leather interior, xenon lights, and sports package with 17 inch summer tires. It has 26K and the woman initially wanted $29,000. A month ago, we offered $24,000, however, the woman rejected our offer. Well, she just called us to say that she's willing to negotiate and would sell it for $24,500. Do you think this is a good deal? We would rather wait till next fall before seriously buying a used TT in our favorite navy blue/navy blue combination. We feel that this car is worth $23,000. Do any of you think $24,500 is a good price? Would $24,000 be a better offer? Advice, comments, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why are you selling your TT so soon? You've only had it for a year or so. Were you satisfied with the overall ownership experience?
We currently own a 98 A4Q and a 99 A6Q and we are extremely pleased with both models. We don't care if we buy a TT with or without quattro. We just want to find a low-mileage used TT that's trouble-free and fun to drive. Do you have any major issues with the TT? Quality concerns? Thanks!

Re: I would say stay away from 1999 build Fwd TT's. I have one, too.
Thanks for the response. Could you elaborate on the problems you had with your TT? Also details regarding your TT would be nice - how many miles, how do you rate the overal ownership experience, and do you recommend the TT? We would greatly appreciate the information. Thanks!

Thanks for the information. The price of $23,500-$24,000 is probably more realistic than $24,500. We'd appreciate your opinion of the TT. Do you have any concerns regarding the TT? Do you highly recommend it and were there any major quality problems - an interior rattle or electronic gremlins, perhaps? Thanks!

Our 1/99 build has been relatively trouble-free....DV of course, ps rack, lock/light bug, groan
-all warranty fixes.
Dealer offered me $23k on trade-in six months ago at 28k miles.
The car you're looking at might retail for $22-23k, but private sale would be closer to $21k.
