I rode several bicycles in the last week and, after getting a deal I couldn't refuse, bought...
...a LeMond Zurich this weekend. Performance Bicycle is no longer going to carry LeMond bicycles and so is selling their 2002 models at clearance prices. This is one fantastic bike. I rode several aluminum cycles including Cannondale and Giant and really didn't enjoy them much at all. I knew I was home when I climbed on this Reynolds 853 Pro steel jobber. Man, what a ride. Of course, I haven't had a chance to ride it hardly at all yet given that it has been RAINING here since the minute I picked it up!! Hmmm...I wonder what kind of mods are available...

Congrats...I know you'll enjoy it....mods?..Chris King Headset .....
Mavic Ksyrium wheels, X1 Speedplays and seat and post. The Ultegra stuff is really nice. Even the folks with dura ace use the ultegra bottom bracket. I like the stock stem and bars even after a year. After a while if you feel you want to drop the stem one spacer you can put one on top of the stem and eventually cut the steerer down. Mine came with about 4 spacers.

There are no bad days, just bad dressers ;-).
I ride all year round. You just need the appropriate clothing. I have more cycle related clothing than I know what to do with. I just changed teams and got a ton more stuff. My kids live it when Dad cleans out the cycling closet.

Well thanks...it's a great bike. I was going to buy a Buenos Aries, but they didn't have one in...
...in my size. Because of the clearance, the Zurich ended up being only $175 more than the retail price on the Buenos Aries and they had one of those in my size. I just felt I couldn't go wrong...especially after riding it.

Well, I'm not qualified to race by any means, and I'm going to have to start building my closet...
...from the ground up, so I think I'm going to be a bit of a fair weather biker for a while. Any recommendations on a good bike computer?
