Greetings forum. Question for all you technology-savvy types...

So, I have this new laptop w/ Netscape 6.2 on it. A number of times now, I have specified all of my Mail Settings and Preferences just to have them diappear. I'll log on a few times, with all my prefernces in-tact and the next time I will logon to find all of those settings are restored to the default... I suspect displeased internet gnomes, but suspect there might also be some technical reason? Would somebody please advise?

What other programs do you run on there? Anything that frames internet browsing?

I don't think so, but I'm not 100%. The tech. people at work

gave me some sort of mumbo-jumbo about conflicts between XP and the latest versions of Netscape and how that might be causing all of this... Does that sound credible to you? Should I try an archived Netscape product (maybe 4.0), instead?

Happy to help the technically challenged....

Simply open the laptop, power up, then swing the screen further open until it folds back underneath the keyboard. This manuever must be done quickly and forcefully in order to override the default limitations of the hinge.

That should solve your problem.

Are you using windows xp? I think its a windows setting. I had a similar

experience with Outlook Express. I'll see if I can find the fix again and maybe it works with Netcrap.

Re: I run mozilla 0.9.8 and 0.9.9 and they both work fine..

Double check when you log into your laptop that you are using the correct user profile. Also check the netscape profile is intact by using the profile manager in the netscape folder.
