Default ATTN: LarryTT... more on seating position

man I can just not get this right!!! I posted a reply on my original post but its way down the page now...

"Ok... if straight is 180.. then my legs are like at 100-115 when i'm NOT pushing in any pedals ...thats too bent isnt it? On the 10 minute drive home my butt went numb and my right leg fell asleep... so I moved back one notch. But now I feel like i'm stretching again... Maybe its just the inssanely long clutch travel on this thing... I can fully depress the clutch with my right foot though...and my leg stays bent left or right at about 160...

dang it this sucks... I just cannot get comfortable in this car... and when I do I have alot of trouble on the 1rst to 2nd shift for some reason. I can hit it great in the position I had it set this morning (before I moved it back one more) now that I moved it I bounce the shift again

wanna come set my seat correctly for me? then you can teach me how to drive...

Default Hmmm... as for teaching you how to drive... ;-)

Did you just say you could "fully depress the clutch with your RIGHT foot" ??? Typically people use their left foot for clutchwork. But what do I know. I drive an automatic. ;-)

Default Bill, right foot is correct. You have been driving wrong all these years.

Try crossing your legs next time . . .

No, seriously. To properly set the seat distance one thing to do is press the clutch in with your right foot. Since you have to reach slightly across your body it gives a good distance for your left leg.

Default Ah. Got it... still was a funny image trying to picture driving down the road with my legs crossed

I usually only do that when I have to wait for the next rest stop. ;-)

Default Jason Dale adjusted my seating position over two years ago...

And I haven't changed it since. Ok, various service people and guest drivers have changed it, but I always put it back the way he set it. In other words, I firmly believe that someone who knows what they're doing can help you find a seating position that is both comfortable and driveable.

p.s. I cannot wait to see the humorous interpretations of the subject line of this post...

Default Actually that is how my Uncle drives!

Obviosuly only automatics, but he drives all cockeyed. He actually SITS on his right leg and drives with his left! lol Yes, an automatic. He got used to it when he broke his right leg years ago and needed to drive to work. He just never switched back to using his right leg. lol
