Where to find used listings?
Anyway, I am in the market for a used TT, but I am on a relatively limited budget. Anyone have any ideas on where to look to get a deal? thanks!
There are lots of cars coming off leases, and the local lots here are crowded with 'em.
I counted 5 roadsters alone here in the TC area in this Sundays' paper, all dealers.
You are in command, because it's a buyers market for used cars.
Don't know if you can remember but somebody posted about 1 year ago that they bought a Desert Green TT and wanted to sell right away because he was too tall for the car (it had 400 miles on it).
Anyway, after posting this stuff on this forum...everyone bashed him for purchasing without even test driving it. Needless to say, he didn't post again. (you guys are such meanees!)
I emailed him and made an offer AT invoice. He turned it down.
About 1 month later, I saw a posting on the Auditt.org site selling a car of the same description. No price listed; but it WAS listed on autobytel with the price.
I called him up and offered to take it off of his hands IMMEDIATELY for invoice. He agreed. I drove to his house, test drove, inspected, and gave him the check.
IF you know what invoice was, at the time, I got "The Crakkan" (my Desert Green TT) for only $800 more and it's a 225/Roadster as opposed to a 180/coupe. Jeeees!-the thing wasn't even broken in yet-I mean mint dude!
He and his wife turned out to be the nicest people. They even took pics of me picking it up at their house and they sent them to me in the mail two weeks later. They were actually quite glad to let a real enthusiest (they could tell in my eyes) was buying the car. He turned around and bought a 500SL (sweet) or something.
To tell you the truth, this color grew on me the second that I saw it in person for the first time and haven't regretted it yet.
