How can I remove the cell phone antenna on my car? Need to make space for my XM antenna
I want to remove it, I am not saying I want it filled, but I want it gone for my XM radio antenna. It would be a perfect place for the antenna. Can the antenna be removed to make a flat surface? I have unscrewed the cell phone antenna, and removed the rubber suction cup, and then there is that metal mount. Can that metal mount be removed without going to a body shop? (i.e. can it be unscrewed someway?) Anyone have pictures of the antenna cross section, like the Bentley pictures?

So there is a bolt under the headliner...
that holds the top bolt in place. So I would need to unscrew the one under the headliner, and then pull the antenna off the top, correct? Are there any cables? (plugs, or just cut the cables, if there are any?)

Details from my removal of the antennae
Lift up your hatch lid and you will see a wire that goes into the roof through a little sidewall. That is your antennae wire. You unscrew the the antennae from above and this leave the wire with a bolt attachment (the antennae is a nut and the connector is a right angle bolt). You can pull the wire out from there.
