question for those of you who lowered your car. when you lower your car . have you had to ...
anyone had to do this ?? or is he bull****ting me for money .. will a light come on ( in the dash ?)
ive tried moving the xenon adjustor sensors attached to the rear control arms, and they actually seem to make some difference (i was able to raise my beams a tiny bit), i think. but in general, i see no difference while driving.
if you are lowering your car the same amount all around, i dont think it should change anything. the headlights should still be level, but just originating from a point however much lower (which probbaly wont make a big difference when projected 100' down the road).
however, this might be a good chance for a test, that i wish i had done =)
try taking before and after pictures of your headlights (on level) ground from a fair distance (maybe 50~100') and compare the before and after pictures. might help to put a dimming screen in front of the camera so its easier to tell how bright the focal point of the headlight is).
then again... paying $100 to have your dealer adjust them may be worth it, in retrospect. wont void any warranties either. oh well.
The reason you want to make sure to disconnect them is that the plastic attachment to the sensor will break.
As long as these sensors are operational I doubt that you really need to have the headlights aligned. BTW, the machine they use is evidentally quite something...
