Default Update on my APR Stage 3 project:

I've been slammed at work. Had to get a project out by Monday afternoon. Thus I couldn't take vacation to visit APR.

That said, my Stage 3 project is in motion; APR has my $4300 and my spare ECU to chip.

The hold up right now, according to Stephen@APR is that they were going to pull off the 3" downturn and 3" downpipe from the APR Stage 3 TTq. Which is currently the only transverse 1.8T quattro with Stage 3 on it. Since I am not down there, I am waiting on the one of the 3" parts to be in stock. Once they have this part from manufacturing, they will FedEx me the kit. Then I have to get it installed.

Stephen suggested a place in CT called Last Minute Racing. They mostly work on Speedvision race cars(Speed Channel now..) and tuning Porsches. They just installed an APR Stage 3 kit on the owners Golf. APR is trying to get them to be a CT/NY distributor/installer of APR products. Makes sense, now that APR has started Porsche tuning. Hopefully I will have the kit end of this week, or beginning of next, and will have it installed before/on/around Easter.

For those wondering what is involved in buying Stage 3 on their TT here is the break down:
$3995 for the kit
$300 for high flow cat that mates up with their 3" downpipe
$XXXX for a high flow 2.5" or greater aftermarket exhaust. They obviously suggest the APR exhaust.

If you have a bone stock car, I would estimate $6000-$6500 for everything needed including install labor. The biggest variable is the labor rate depending on where you get it installed. They said to attempt this install without a lift is askign for trouble.

They ship the kit with a stock TT DV, and suggest using it. They dropped the Bailey valve like a bad habit and I believe they have done testing on the Forge and were not 100% confidant with it. I believe they are still working on an aftermarket solution, but until then, they suggest the stock "N" valve, and to replace it, if/when it fails. I am going to give my kit a try with the Turbo XS valve that I am currently running with the PES K04 kit.

A place down the street from me called Proven Performance has started the install process in their shop for an in floor 4 wheel dyno. When that gets finished, I want to put the TT on it and see what she puts down.

That's all for now. I will post pics of the parts of the kit when I get it.

http://www.goapr.com</a

Can't wait to see it in action! Do you know if Marcus took your spot @ APR for the install?

I don't think so. Stephen would have told me if he did. Plus like I said not all the parts are ready

Default Once they get their 4-wheel dyno install please let us know..

There are a few things I would like to do before I do any mods, which include some 1.4mile times, a dyno, and a weighing.. Im probably going to the track this weekend so that takes care of the times and weighing, just need to dyno it..

Default Sorry RoberTTo, I don't know anything about the 6 speed SS. I "heard" they already have a 225 test

car, but it can't hurt to call Rob and ask.
