Default M Roadster opinions wanted.

Friend is seriously considering an M Roadster. Aside from the design (we all know they are not as nicely designed as the TT so you don't need to state the obvious). 315 HP would be nice, I assume they must push a lot with that big 6 up front. Has anyone driven one for comparison?

TIA

My 6'4" frame fit, but it was tight. Thought the power was nice, but ride was too stiff for me.

Default I considered one as well. Its ride is horrible and its interior is not a place to spend time in.

It is so unAudi like.

Default If you have any questions about the M Roadster....

You should definitely check out The e36/7 Z3 Message Board. As an ex-Z3 owner, I found it to be an invaluable source of information from fellow Z3ers. BMW NA and BMW Manufacturing both monitor the forum.

I couldn't disagree more...but you're right, the interior is not "Audi-like".

Default I'm not 6' 4", however I felt cramped and wanted to "get away" from the steering wheel.

It was tighter then even my MGB. I never drove it. Why bother if you're uncomfortable sitting in it.

And after sitting in a TT and seeing the interior, the decision was made.

Default I needed goggles....My eyes are just above the windscreen

I'm only 6'1" but I sit high. An absolute blast to drive but completely impractical for me, even as a 3rd car. Don't even talk about putting the roof up )
The M3 Convertable on the other hand........

Default You must have the longest torso in history....

I'm 6'1" too and I had a Z3 as a daily driver for 3+ years. My father is 6'2"+ and never had a problem fitting into my car with the top up (and he does have problems with some cars).

Without a doubt, the cabin of a TTR is roomier than a Z3 in every aspect, but that doesn't make the Z3 uncomfortable.

I've done 12+ hour trips in the Z3 and will vouch for its comfort on long drives without reservation. I've driven it in all sorts of weather from torential downpours and snowstorms to the most beautiful days of the year and it never once let me down.
