a bunch of questions...mostly exhaust related:
1) LLTEK - from searching the archives, it seems that they had some serious quality issues with the way the exhaust fit on the car. does anyone know if these issues have been corrected? has anyone bought one recently? are you happy with it?
2) UUC Velocimax - is this exhaust overkill on a 180hp TT, where all i'm planning on doing is chipping it (eventually...though not until my warranty runs out in 2 years)? 3" diameter piping seems to be a bit extreme for the tiny stock turbo...but maybe i'm mistaken. will there be a negative effect by installing this exhaust on a 180hp TT? what i'm thinking is that by having such a large diameter that the car might have trouble pushing the exhaust gases out of the car in an efficient manner. am i on crack or does this make any sense (not that the two are mutually exclusive)? for those of you with a UUC exhaust, are you happy with it? anyone with a negative opinion of it?
3) Supersprint - anyone have this exhaust system on their car? thoughts?
4) engine surging - is this definitely a symptom of a bad diverter valve? or are there other issues that might be causing this? such as an MAF going bad? also...i've noticed that sometimes when i'm going from 3rd to 4th, as i press the clutch in and take my foot off the gas, that sometimes the car will rev like a bat out of hell for a split second before i put it into 4th. it doesn't happen all the time, but it has happened to me 5 or 6 times. methinks there's something wrong with the electronic throttle control...but maybe this is all related to either a bad DV or a bad MAF as well. has this ever happened to anyone else? any ideas?
5) the "FADE" control on my radio doesn't seem to work. what gives???
thanks in advance to everyone for taking the time to answer this post. i appreciate it.

changing the exhaust is pretty much the only thing i can do to get any kind of a performance gain what-so-ever without worrying about the warranty...since it's the last component in the whole engine system...and really, the only way for an exhaust to cause a warranty issue would be if i went to smaller than stock diameter piping and clogged up the cats (or something). but as long as i keep the piping as large (or larger) than stock, they can't void my warranty on any other parts (aside from the exhaust itself). well...they can try...but they won't succeed ;-) Massachusetts is a very consumer-friendly state. i've gone through this before with Ford...they lost.
i LOVE Remus exhaust systems. i've never heard one that i didn't like. and as for looks, in my opinion it's definitely the most attractive of all the systems out there for the TT. but at the same time, the fact that it doesn't produce any performance gains means that it's off my list
