OK, need some legal advice..... Dealer is claiming I'm responsible for five tickets....
Thanks,
T
• emails (with times sent etc)
• any faxes or other timed details showing it wasn't you
• landline phone times etc
It should be pretty easy to convince them to drop it. Let the dealer know you have the solid proof it wasn't you and that you'd be taking this to Citibank and then see what there tune is
Good luck
How far apart were the tickets issued? How many days did you have the car? Were the tickets issued during working hours, or at night? Should be fairly easy to dispute at least one at a minimum and if you can do that then tell them none of them are yours.
No, I am not a lawyer, but I am staying at a Holiday Inn May 2-5 in Asheville, NC
it's possible that something similar happened here.
Supposedly, the dealer is sending the citations and the "photos", which show nothing more than the license plate, for my "review". The guy that called is a wannabe mechanic noog that got bumped into answering the phones (probably cause he is not too bright)... could not get a straight answer from the guy... he just kept on insisting that must be me because the dates overlap...
When I get home tonight, I'll have to dig up my paper work and get things in order... they are intimidating the wrong guy...
I called up EZ-Pass and said that if you check the records you can see each toll I hit, then you charge me for driving from Southern NJ, when they had be clocked in coming from Long Island. It took about 2 months to get it all fixed in my favor but it eventually did.
So long as you have the proof I wouldn't sweat it. Good luck with it.
