My concern is Houston, we have potholes that could swallow a Volkswagon! I don't want a rough ride or any more road noise - it just wouldn't be worth it. Voice your thoughts, thanks.

Default With PSS 9 coilovers you wont be sacrficing ride quality

And you can raise and lower to your satisfaction, as well as adjust ride firmness...

Default But as I like to mention, watch for road hazards...

I've already scraped the bottom of my TT at stock height on various parking lot dips and road bumps; I really don't see how those who lower theirs aren't tearing the belly pan off at every opportunity.

As an example, I have to back out of my driveway at an angle or I scrape the little air flaps behind the front wheels...

Default ditto

I guess I've never fully understood why so many people want to lower their cars (not just TTs). sometimes it is understandable because stock height seems excessive, but the TT is already pretty close to the ground and seems to look pretty good as-is. maybe it's just something that you can do (as opposed to the many things you can't do...). whatever. anyway, i agree re: giving it some thought first - i too scrape the air flaps when leaving my driveway, and have crossed some pretty scary looking speed bumps that really make me wonder how a lowered car would survive... so be careful!

to each, his/her own, i guess...

Default I would say hold off as long as you live in Houston :-(

I hate the roads here. We have chromed arches and sliver stop lights along with those holes you mentioned!! WTF...this is one of my pet hates so don't get me started.

I would like to stiffen my suspension a little for high speed sweepers and sharp turns but I know my car will pay a heavy price for this with the quality of the roads here. It sucks :-(

Drop me an email so we can meet for lunch of sumptin OK?

Go with the Bilsteins, handling much improved, ride, IMHO, better, avoids bad road surface issues.

Default Havin' lived both in Houston and Dallas, I would say if you do drop, do it with Eibachs, not as firm

and I am staying with 17 inch wheels until the TT can become a second car and not the daily driver - I think 18s will firm the ride up also and with Dallas streets, they will be sure to bend eventually.

If you do anything and are thinking about lowering in future, you may want Bilstein Sports. If you want a better ride and stock springs, go with Bilstein HDs and a Neuspeed rear anti sway bar - that is my current set up

Default I had the H&R springs with stock shocks and ...

in Houston is was ROUGH as hell. If I were you, I wouldn't lower it. I would stay with the stock springs and go with just the Bilstein shocks.
