Tidbits from the Dec 2001 Audi magazine: Telematics
Telematics will be available later this year. Outside of the magazine, I understand the cars are arriving now with the option. This will not be offered on 2002 TT's of any ilk or A8's (!!). It does not say it won't be offered in the future just not in step with A4's and A6's.
It will include 1 year of Safety and Security plan for free. The optional plans are Personal Calling (cellular) and Virtual Advisor (stock quotes , email).
The base plan, free for a year includes roadside assistance, Lojack-style car locater in case it is stolen, and automatic notification to EMS of an airbag deployment.
But not for the TT.
This year anyway.
