I have been getting frequent oil lights on the display and then the temp gauge would go pinned to

cold. Obviously it was something elctrically connected. I changed my oil this weekend and now have not had one oil light come on. Could it be related???? Does the car have some sort of sensor that would trigger the oil pressure light when the oil needs to be changed??? It's just kind of strange. Car has 14,500 miles on it and the previous change was done at 5,000 service which was more like 6,000 actual miles.

My oil lights on the display problem was diagnosed-to-be/fixed-with a new inst. cluster

That's what I think it is too, just strange how I changed the oil and no more light.

The magical ingredient is...

I had the same problem. After four visits in five months to two dealerships, I found the solution... where else, but on this forum. So, armed with the answer my dealer ordered the part, put it in and now the world is a better place. For me anyway. Oh yeah, the magical ingredient was the temperture sensor unit.
