Here's an update on the murder trial.....
The jury was out all day yestarday without a verdict. They're coming back Monday morning for some playbacks of testimony. No news is good news - especially over a weekend.<ul><li><a href="http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/atlantic/082202SHAHID_A22.html">(not) GuilTTy article</a></li></ul>

I sure can comment. They didn't look b/c they knew they wouldn't find anything...
and they didn't want to have to turn that kind of result over. they also put my guy's photo in a linup w/ 5 hispanic guys! I must admit that it was fun to cross examine the homicide investigator who put that together! (oh, and that investigator was my main investigator for a few major trials when I worked in that office).

hard to really justify murder against one, and assault against the others based on an "eyewitness"
it's very hard to trust what people see in "panic" situations, and not having any physical evidence, such as blood on the shoes, i think there should be reasonable doubt.

That's basically the heart of the case (+ there was another Egyptian out there...)
wearing identical clothing (staff) who this eyewitness was never given an opportunity to view for a potential ID).
