Default VERY Melancholy - TT Ownership comes to an end...

For various reasons too complex to get into here, including just plain missing time spent in the adjacent Rockies, not having space for three cars this week I will bid farewell to my beloved 2001 225 TTQC and shift to a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport...

I will hang around, as you've all become like family to me over the past three years or so, and I couldn't lose track of Mom, BracketRacer's latest showroom acquisitions, Jeff Bipes' amazing mods, etc.

Since I was a "good boy" and never modded, I won't have much to sell - a used but good condition set of TT slush mats will be available if anyone's interested.

Is is kind of neat to get a large check back when buying a new vehicle, though (zero sales tax!)

Oh, and somewhere, likely Stammler Imports in Boulder, there's going to be a meticulously cared for (Mobil 1 every 5K) 2001 Denim Blue for sale soon...

So farewell:

Default Thanks...

I'll curse it every time I have to downshift to second just to maintain speed on the approach to the Eisenhower Tunnel that the TT can handle and even accelerate in in sixth, but will of course appreciate it when crossing Imogene Pass in the San Juans or just when driving through a road construction area with potholes the size of, well, TTs. :-)

Default Lots of mods to do to the Jeep if so inclined

I would at a minimum put on a pair of welded nerf bars as the frame rail is right under the front seats and the Jeep offers only minimal protection from side impact.

Default My last jeep was in to me for over 26 grand..not counting labour

Very easy to spend cash on for mods.

Although it was far from stock

Dana 44's front and rear with 4:10 gears+ ARB Air Lockers

T19 Custon tranny with 7:1 granny low
302 Ford Cobra motor with Fuel injection 300hp+
80' dana 300 t case with custom low range gear set
dual optima batteries
Very custom suspension spring over etc
custom shafts
35" boggers
10000 warn winch
Nairobi outfitters custom bumpers

And a whole bunch of other expensive stuff in order to go anywhere..Still depresses me to this day that I sold it, especaiil considering I only paid 1600 for it originally.
