OK heres a poll - How many have had ZERO issues with their car or service
So the poll...
Question 1: How many people have had no issues beyond the need for an oil change since buying their TT - and how long have you owned it?
Respond in the subject with: No issue 3 years (example)
Question 2: How many people have gotten EXCELLENT service on their TT? Where are you located?
I.e.: Excellent SoFla
The subject line might then read:
No issues 4 years Great Service New York
Thanks. I'm going to look closely at the results before I pick this thing up on the 31st.
Bottom line is on this forum you'll hear more about the bad things than the good things due to folks wanting things to gripe about. Remember we are less than 10% of all TT's sold in the USA...but as you may know by now the most vocal.
Some of us make the necessary repairs/mods ourselves to dismiss reliance on a Stealership,
Yeah there are things AoA could have done to make reliablility better, and that is prbably where the 90% of TT'ers are at.
For the record I have had mine since march 2000, crammed 80000 much modded miles onto it and had zero issues in regard to drivetrain or motor...Now electrics...a few gripes.
But as the models get newer they have ironed out most of the bugs.
M,
We've had relatively few issues in the 38,000 miles we had our TT....just over three years now....but probably more issues than you will have with a Toyota or Honda.
Perhaps a number equal to what you would have with a Mercedes, BMW or PT Cruiser.
Plus, we're a particular bunch....and every little thing upsets us....we talk about it and we bitch a lot about it.
Enjoy DRIVING your car and know that your warranty is good for 50,000 miles. By then, most all of your issues should be taken care of. :-)
I am pretty happy with my service at Braman in W.P.B.
Does that help Tommy?

I do think the TT could and should be more reliable, but the reliability seems to be getting a bit better.
There's no question that the TT is not as reliable as many of the Japanese cars, for example. However, I find many of the Japanese vehicles to be lifeless, without class or soul.
