can you say neck snaping oversteer in the rain? Yeah, not a great idea to shut off esp and push the car hard with a suspension setup that still hasn't been properlly set.. Could lead to major pain and damge.. but hey, its fun scarying yourself and your passenger every now and then.. right? After some little fun my passenger turned on ESP =)

Default here was the deal

going around turn... raining hard = quattro time.. Pushing the car hard, front end pushs I jump off a little too fast rear starts to come around, I get back on gas, and all is well.. Except my passenger got a little worried.. lol fun if you ask me.. When it rains I like to jump in the car and go for a ride..

Default just don't hit the gas too hard

cause the rear end will keep coming around. I do the same thing, and as you know, know how to do it when it is dry out too ;-)

Default BlutoTT, could you say a bit more?

On a dry road on a curve at, yes, pretty high speed recently I was surprised to have the rear slide out at the apex of the curve. I wasn't going *that* fast. What about quattro would account for this?

Default I was too far back too see this happen and was surprised it was just the back end

I have managed to get a full on drift on (mostly) dry pavement but the road was not the smoothest surface. Generally, unless you are really trying, it's hard to get just the back end of a stock TT to come out. Getting on the gas hard at the apex will possibly do it if you've got ESP off. Seems that you can manage to get alot of power transferred to the rear tires in a corner and induce oversteer. Every time I do this tho ESP intervenes and cuts power.

Default yeah, but you didn't warn anyone.. :)

actually, Ive managed to do this with my previous car, nissan maxima, a few times.. Now that was scary.. Having the rear end of a fwd car come out .. one of the times the rear just broke lose, no lifting off the throttle, no braking.. just broke..

Default Remember when Audi had to reengineer the TT suspension and added ESP!!!

Now think about the engineering resources of Audi and the time they took to develop the TT, they thought they had it right and then a couple of idiots went and killed themselves. And the Quattro was actually more lethal than the 2wd because although the limits are higher the tolerance is less!!!
