Default DIY Project #1: Brakes.

I'll be installing new slotted rotors (from ECS), pads, brake lines and fluid this weekend. I'm armed with posts and articles from this site as well as the Bentley Repair Manual. Any tips or warnings?

I hope to post my success story Monday.

Default if you don't have the special tool, have a set of clamps handy...

to keep your piston where it needs to be.

Default Good luck! I'll be doing the exact same thing in about 2 weeks...

I'm going to help my buddy put new brakes and fluid in his 300Z tomorrow so I'll have at least tried it once before disecting my TT. What pads and fluid did you go with?

Default Haven't done this with the TT yet...

But I did my own brake work on my last car once I figured out how easy it was and how much I was being ripped off paying someone else to do it.

As Jeff already said, rubber gloves are recommended... it can be hard to get all that brake dust off your hands later.

Out of curiosity, does anybody know if replacing the rotors on the TT is as easy as moving the calipers and sliding the rotors off? That's all I had to do with my '90 Celica, but I've heard of there being cars where this isn't the case.
