Newbie w/few questions----from Northern Cali
Hello, I just bought new 2002 TT roadster from san jose area.
I have few questions to ask..I hope you guys help me out here.
1. My car squeaks from chair, headrest and from the ashtray..is this normal? HOW CAN I FIX IT?(Stevens Creek Audi can't fix it)
2. Talking about the service...which Audi dealer is the best for the service. I don't know if I wanna go back to Stevens Creek Audi
3. Any good shops to modify my car? and what kind of modification do you recommend for this car?

hmm... okay...
1. the chair and headrest problems can be addressed... these noises are coming from the passenger seat, yes? if so, just adjust it so that it doesn't rattle -- push it all the way back, down all the way, and then recline it slightly so your riders will still be comfortable. the ashtray squeaks? umm... i got nuthin' on that.
2. audi dealers have notoriously been a problem. you may never find a dealer that you're happy with, but good luck, just the same!
3. yes, lots. do you want do DIY, or do you want a shop to install stuff fo you?
the chip is the most HP for the $. suspension is one of the more fun mods. after that, exhaust, tires, etc...

Couple of answers...
#1, if it's a squeak rather than rattle, make sure it's not the seat beat wire connection. There's a wire (on the connection side) that can rub against the seat that can cause a nasty squeak if it's not positioned correctly.
2. On Stevens Creek Audi... I've been there twice and I'll continue going until they do something I'm unhappy with. They fixed a glove box, valve gasket, and an oil change without any issue. If I ever have a problem, I'm definatly going to Rector in Burlingame. There one of the few service depts that I don't see too many complaints. Do a search yourself, you'll find quite a bit of info.
