Default Just bought a 2001 TT...was wondering about tires

Recently bought a 2001 TT Coupe from the Chicago area. The car has Michelin Pilot Sport 225/45ZR17 91Y's on it and the front two are down to the wear marker. First of all, anyone have some similar tires for sale in this area? A set of 4? Slightly used but still with some life? If not...should I get 2 new tires of the same...or get 4 new tires of different brand? I did some research and it looks like Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 have good reviews, plus seems to be a nice looking tire...high performance V tread. Just was lookin' for you other TT owner's preference. BTW, I do have a set of brand new snow tires and wheels for Chicago winter driving. I hear that's a must-do. I am definitely green around the edges when it comes to knowing everything about this car, but feel I do know more than the average female, so any opinions are welcomed by me. Thanks in advance!
Cher

rolling diameter needs to be the same on all four wheels if it's a quattro, otherwise you can kiss your rear diff goodbye. so, you will need to get four new tyres

as for other TT owner preferences, use the "search" function and i'm certain you'll find plenty of threads regarding tyre likes and dislikes. a lot of people are running bridgestone pole position SO3 tyres...that at least gives you a start. it all depends on what is most important to you...noise, traction, etc.

Default hi cher... the pilot sports are great...

but pricey. i ran them a while back... and have them now. if you are concerned about $$ since you have to purchase all 4.. you might want to try sumitomo, kumho or falkens. great looking "V" tread... and great price (some under $100 per tire) a lot of people swear by them.

ti res at edge racing

Default Welcome aboard! Two most popular tire choices seem to be Kumho 712s and the Bridgestone S-03s. Lots

of other great choices though. I have been using the 712s and have been very happy with them.
