Default '01 180 QC temp went up to 3/4 , concerns?.

it is a daily Driver 80 miles round trip in Utah, Outside temp now is in the 30s F. noticed it yesterday , it went up and stayed there for the rest of the drive , same thing this morning , with normal driving. has this happend to any one? should I be concerned and take it in ? , or just wait a few days cause no warning lights came on?

Sticking thermostat...or it could be a bad fan relay...or thermal switch...Or bubble in the block...Purge the cooling system of any air...and go from there...

Default Water Pump! Yes, take it in. The gauge *IS* your warning.

measure the engine core temp also.
On the climate control panel, push the 'recirculate' button and hold it, then with another finger, hit the 'Up' arrow button on the fan control.
display will read '1C'
Rotate the temp control **** till the display reads '51C'
then press the recic button again.Display will now read engine block temp in degress C.
It should stay at 90.
if it goes up, you have a big problem.
