Default Friend bought an SRT-4

My friend and I bought an SRT-4 for him last night. He was very excited since he always wanted a turbo car. WRX was his #1 choice for a while, but after hearing about SRT-4, a $5k difference, and what they're capable of he changed his mind.
I must admit that the car is damn quick stock and not broken in. With 22 miles on his car he stayed neck to neck with my 225 and all my mods. If I had more gas and him less I'm sure he would have taken me.
I can't wait until he starts to mod it and see how little it takes to make that thing fly.
That said, the interior and attention to detail is the reason why that car is $20k. But from what I heard, the engine is quite well put together.
For those who haven't seen that car from the inside... maybe it's a good thing. It's quite a shock coming from TT. =)

Default 220 in a much lighter car? Plus, I saw SCC do a dyno and came with 220@ the wheels....

could be more of a competitor than we all like to admit

Default By the way, that lightweight TT in Burbank...

...was parted out back in August 2002, including the UUC exhaust. [Gary] had it down to 2886 lbs.

Default It sounds like a much better car than the TT, design and interior aside..

its a cheap lightweight high output vehicle, plus you will have warranty approved mopar...design doesnt mean **** when it looks really hot in someones rear view mirror. Plus when you look at the cost of japanese or domestic to tune its stupid compared to what people pay here for incremental gains.

Evo turbo kit came out from one of the top tuners.. 400whp on pump gas and it spools up just like a stock turbo but it just keeps pulling.. lol.. : o

I look forward to the Sti mods though.. I really like the idea of 2.5Liters ..

GWR's List of mods. to get to 2886...
Removed the following:

Front aluminum bumper and all brackets.
All dual-mount intercooler parts including cross-over pipe. (Replaced w/Forge)
Battery tray. (Relocated stock battery)
Airbox. (Used cone filter)
Front Seats (Replaced with Sparco Evo seats)
Rear seat/backs
Rear hatchback floor covering.
Spare tire and tools.
Rear aluminum bumper and brackets.
Rear weight and brackets.
Stock exhaust (replaced with straight-pipe cat-back)
Heat shielding from rear.
Muffler hangers and tow hook brackets from rear.
Stock tires (replaced with Hoosiers)
Stock wheels (replaced with BBS)

1/8 tank of gas.
