Advice/Suggestions on Extended Warranty?

Default Advice/Suggestions on Extended Warranty?
My 01 TT is approaching 50K and I plan on keeping the TT for a long time. With a number of costly problem things that could happen post the 50K mark I am thinking about an extended warranty.

However, some of the companies offering extended warranties have gone belly up.

As I have a ton of mods, I doubt Audi would give me an extended warranty. Therefore, do any of you have experience with a good extended warranty company and have had good results?

Default I'm in the same boat, at 45k now...
My take on it is skip the warranty. I haven't seen any that cover what I want (window motors/controls, clusters, FSUs, haldex) so I figured it's a better bet to invest the money and just keep it set aside just in case. I do not expect to have mechanical problems with the car, it's the electronic stuff that worries me. How much would it suck to spend $2000 on an extended warranty and it not cover a new $800 cluster? Pretty worthless. I'm going to take my chances unless I can find better warranty coverage.

A friend of mine got WarrantyGold for his A4 and they've already denied claims, stay away from them.

Oh, and also consider if you're modded then you might not be able to get coverage anyway.

I've been with Warranty Direct for almost 40K miles now and it's more than paid for itself.

Default Yep, got tonnes of mods, but its the cluster...
timing belt, trans, A/C that I worry about, since a number of folks have had those problems under warranty.

I think you should do it as long as your dealer is "mod" friendly.

and a few other things.

Ahh yes, I can see where the timing belt stuff would have paid for the warranty easily.
