Tire Wear on 2002 TTQR

I am close to approaching our local Audi dealer again to buy a 2002 TTQR. It is a local, one owner car with 13K miles and I have run a Carfax report on it, which is clean. My only reservation is that the dealer put new tires on the car. The tires are good - Michelin Pilot Sports - but why new tires at 13K? Should I be concerned the owner beat the car?

Not totally unusual with high perf. tires....>>

They can last from 10-18K. You may want to ask for an alignment check as part of the deal though..

Sounds like my recent purchase

In October I purchased a TTQ Coupe with 13,500 miles. Mine has the original tires, and while I'll probably end up replacing them at 18k, I would have preferred it if they had been replaced. I wouldn't be concerned with the tires being replaced. Pehaps you have found a conscientious dealer. A rare find indeed.

picked up my 01 from a private party...

with 5700 miles and the a couple of the tires had some decent wear already.
if it were from a dealer i would think they would have put new ones on.
i dont think its anything to be concerned about at all

Check allignment for peace of mind.....and to save new tires

I bought my car used and the previous owner had just put 4 new tires on it. One day I got what I thought was a puncture. When I took the tire off I saw incredible wear on the inside of the tire.... Right through the belts. The allignment was so far off that it chewed through my front tires in 4000 miles. Never checked my tread wear on the inside of the front tires cause it is not so visible with out turning the wheels or getting down to look.. Now I check how they are doing every couple of weeks.
