The new Porsche 911 Turbo is 75lbs per liter and 115hp per liter. The 1.8T is the same in torque but beats itin hp per liter at 125hp per liter.

Default That's not relevant... you looked into putting weight in your comparison?

Who cares about the ratios per liter? if you get a similar weight on both cars and a bigger displacement [ie. more power] on one vs. the other ?!?

Default Its what German car are all about. Big power out of small motor.

Porsche and Lotus built their entire company on that princable. If your not in to that, you might as well get a Corvette or Viper. Big motor in sled.

Default or you mean poor MPG per liter for German cars

When it comes to efficiency / performance per liter, the Japanese cars are there!

No matter NA or turbocharged.

Why did you spend all that extra money on a Audi TT? Hondas are alot cheaper.

Default Hmm, Honda was my first car

And the reason I own Audis is not because of efficiency, my decision of buying a TT doens't have to do with the facts mentioned earlier.

I bought it because I like it, and the quality or interior is also to mention.

It's not all about power for majority of TT buyers, although we all like to get the most out of these 1.8Ts

Very true, I've got a Honda also. And I expect it'll outlive the TT.

Default It just seems like no one gets what the TT is all about and the TT owners spend more time bitching..

about the TT and not embracing the truely remarkable car it is. I have owned alot of Audis and other cars and I can say Audis have been one of my best ownership experiences. Looking at the entire package, the TT is a incredible car.

Default Actually Germans are the only ones who build their engines like Americans....

There's a lot more to it, but they way their engines fire, their bore to stroke ratios, etc, is much more like the Americans (especially Mercedes) than most other european manufacturers.
