Default big wide wheels, that will give me lowered effect without lowering the car..

6k is too much. i am just wondering which wheel has a really good offset for TT and something like 255 or 275..

You are too vague. There are millions of rims with the right offset and bold pattern for the TT. You've got to do a search on your own. Or ask for something more specific.

Default You may have a problem with that then-->

It is general knowledge that when you go to larger diameter wheel with appropriate tire size to keep speedo, etc same you'll get an optical illusion that makes car appear it's more jacked up. I've seen this happen on others as well as my own black Jetta....went from usual 225/45x17's to larger 225/40x18's. Exact same overall diameter but when you look at car from direct side view, the wider, shinier 18" with lower profile tire creates this strange effect. I would assume it'd look similar going to 19's.
The only way you're going to make a TT "look lowered" is to actually do it.

Default true to a point, but offset also makes a big difference ...

if the offset of the wheel causes it to be pushed back "into" the car, then the wheel gap will be exaggerated. given how sunken the stock 17's are on the tt, you could probably go larger and have it actually look the same or better, provided the offset is more aggressive than stock.

Default I did just what you're thinking on previous-->

Jetta (black) so you'd think it wouldn't be so obvious...black paint, blackwalls, black wheelwells, etc and dished, polished lip 18x8's as opposed to OEM 17" Longbeaches with absolutely no lip. At least the TT's don't have as much gap between tire/lip to fill.
Not arguing with you, as I have ET22's now with the larger wheel and don't think it looks as bad as many would suggest if don't lower the TT. Some of these guys would suggest it looks like 4x4, dunebuggy, etc. but it's not as remotely as "bad" as the pre-lowered Jetta...on that car I had to do susp as first mod even before chipping; not in such a need to hurry up with this. If we're paying the $$, I don't care what others say...go for it.
