Default How do I route wires under/within the area around the shift base?

Looking for some pics on how I might get into the area where the shift base and 'cubby' hole are to route switched cigarette lighter power source wires. The cigaretter lighter "female" end will then be located under the e-brake housing so that I will have a switched power source for my Belkin iPod kit.

If this makes any sense to anyone, how do I get into the housing area near the shift **** base and from there into the e-brake housing?

Ideas/pics?

TIA!

Default Lift this cover.

Use a small blade driver or a pick tool.
Lift up this edge, and this cover will come out.
it's captivated at the other end, so start at this end.

You can get at the space under there, and run the wires out along the bottom of the plastic base on the tunnel where it meets the carpet.
You can then push the wires along this edge, and push them under the plastic. You can fish them out from the sides of the center console, under the radio/climate control.

Default I was hoping you'd show up (again). Going to...

run to the local Pep Boys and get a female cig sleeve with + and - ends and start wiring. Luckily I have ready access to ignition on/off power due to my Guage Pak install.

As for the routing, I'll o as you say and just tuck them up along the edge from the front of the car toward the area underneath the e-brake.

Cool - another fun project this weekend. :-)

Thanks Jeff.

Default Another Q...

do you think the belkin power source thingie and a female cig sleeve will fit in under the e-brake cover?

Doubt it... but do you know?

Default Done! Placed all the associated wires

to the rear of the cubby hole (front one). The area under the median cubby is not deep enough.

Turned out great - off to take car pics now.
