Default Oh how i love DIY jobs, decided to re-wire, re-paint & re-seal the headlights -- some pix >

I thought while i have no front bumper, why not make use of the opportunity and rework the headlights. When i did the clearcorners a whiiile back, first off i was super worried, i hurried to put everything back together and i did the whole job kinda iffy - i knew the plastic clearcorner piece would hold but didn't know how long it would be before it broke off & was rattling around inside. PLUS when i first worked on the assembly, i left a few (very noticable to me) silicone finger prints on the black plastic - shameful.
I'm one of those people who sleep well at night knowing something is properly done, so i just did the works. I repainted and repainted the black plastic piece, giving it (in my opinion) a blacker look and now fingerprint free. Reglued the plastic clearcorner piece so that it NEVER EVER falls off. I cleaned/wiped down the glass on the inside, painted the red light assembly for the red clearcorner mod and glued/siliconed it to the headlight along with installing two snaps on the wires for a cleaner setup. This time around i made sure to setup a NASA-like dust-free room where everything was taken apart and put together, wore some gloves when necessary and overall i'm very very happy with the result. To boot I siliconed every part of the headlight unit, including the ballast access and the turn signal bulb - the way i see it, lifetime garantie on these headlights.

This time around i made sure i had all the necessary tools and accessories before i began, and took my time over a whole day. Love it, total cost was only the silicone + spray paint but the difference is key. Cheers - Max

Ballast and HID bulb need a little air to displace heat or they will get real hot.

Default Nice, I'd like to see it working. Is all that silicone visible when you mount the headlight back on

the car? No it's under the hood right?

No worries, there's an open flap pointing down on the ballast access cap.
