the new switch that automatically selects the right input if your ipod (or equiv) is playing... how did that work out? I remember you saying you were going to do some field testing. Good results I'm hoping? Any news?

It's working in prototype right now, but there are a few glitches yet...
It takes about 5 seconds for the switch to be made when you first start plying the iPod or other MP3.
I want to get this down to like 1 sec.

All that would come into the cabin then from my adapter box at the changer, would be a 3.5 mm stereo plug, that goes into an iPod or equiv. MP3 player.
if that's what you mean yes.
Adjust the MP3 device for say mid-volume output, plug my plug into the output jack, turn the MP3 on, hit 'play', and the sound is automatically routed thought the CD Changer input to the OEM H/U.
the CD changer needs to be in place and running to make this happen.
hit 'pause' on the MP3 player, and after about 5 sec, the CD changer starts to play. This is set at this level so that it does not switch from MP3 player to changer in between songs, for example.
