Default Bay Area body shop recommendation? (long)

Hi all, I'm new to this forum but not AudiWorld; I hang out over at the S4 forum but I have a TT related question. Can anyone recommend a Bay Area body shop (peninsula or south bay) that can do a quality job of paint matching on a silver TT?

My wife was recently rear ended and the other guy's insurance company, farmers, accepted liability. The damage was fairly minor but still required replacement of the rear bumper cover and exhaust. So, after checking out a few shops in the area, she decided to go with a shop on the recommendation of the Audi Dealer where she has the car serviced. As it turns out, this was a bad idea.

Upon having the car returned, she was immediately aware that the job was substandard. The most glaring problem was that the paint was badly mismatched. Also, the exhaust was not installed properly, the emblems were not installed properly, the wiring for the lighting was not reconnected completely and the fitment of the parts was, in general, crap.

At that point she was so upset that she didn't want to deal with it anymore so I inherited the job. To the shop owner's credit, he did not argue with me when I returned the car with my complaints. He just said, "I'll make it right." Well, I got the car back for the second time and guess what? It's not right.

They claim to have addressed all of my issues but the biggest problem is that the paint still did not match. At that point he said he was finished and that I should get Farmers Insurance involved if I'm not happy. Well, I did that and miracle of miracles, the Farmers adjuster not only agreed with me but instructed the body shop to order a brand new OEM bumper cover because he was not happy with the unit that they used (it was a refurbished unit).

Needless to say, after two failed attempts I have no faith that this shop can get it right. Surprisingly, Farmers has agreed to let me take the new cover to another shop and have the work completed there (at Farmers' expense). I don't think I'm gonna get another shot at this so I'd like to have some confidence that the new shop will perform quality work.

If anyone out there has direct experience with a shop that can do a good job matching the stock silver paint and does quality work in general, I would appreciate a recommendation. I apologize for the length of this post but I wanted to get the whole story out.

Thanks in advance.

Default German Auto Body in Santa Clara

They do great work I was rear ended and went to them.. Perfect job. I got my body kit painted and installed there, too. Rieger had some QC issues (the had not finished rounding the edges on the kit) and German Auto body fixed it up for them. Paint is a PERFECT match. . . I think the paint tech is trained by BMW(I am pretty sure) Go there... You can't beat 'em!
